PPCAI Leaders Mark 'Araw ng Kagitingan' with Outreach at Deaf School in Laguna

Paowin Cavinti, Laguna. In a heartwarming display of community service and solidarity, key members of the Philippine Paint and Coatings Association, Inc. (PPCAI) Board of Directors dedicated their “Araw ng Kagitingan” holiday to a special visit at The Silent Sanctuary in Paowin Cavinti, Laguna. The focus of their visit was a day-long engagement with the Deaf Evangelistic Alliance Foundation (D.E.A.F.) College, an institution dedicated to the education of deaf-mute students from underprivileged backgrounds across the Philippines.

During their visit, the PPCAI officials met with 110 students of the D.E.A.F. College, introducing themselves and distributing free t-shirts, a generous gift from Director Jonathan Bangayan of Universal Paints. The gesture was met with smiles and gratitude, highlighting the warmth and connection between the association’s members and the students.

The PPCAI delegation, including President Reggie Yu (*Times Paint*), Eden Ramos (*DKSH*), April Ramos (*BASF Philippines*), Cheryl Talampas (*PPCAI Executive Director*), and Sam Conan Chua (*Chemisol*), was briefed on the college's operational status and needs by School Director Mr. Salvador Cuare and Assistant School Director Ms. Rosula Casantusan. The comprehensive briefing aimed to provide the PPCAI board with a clear understanding of how they could further assist the institution through their outreach programs.

After the informative session, the PPCAI officers embarked on a 3-kilometer trek across the expansive 80-hectare The Silent Sanctuary. The journey through the sanctuary's virgin forests, clear spring creeks, and untouched greenery offered a moment of reflection and bonding for the group, emphasizing the day’s theme of unity and commitment to social responsibility.
